The thumbprint cookies that are popular among Pittsburghers were first introduced in 1980, a decade after Kaufmann’s Arcade Bakery was established. While the Arcade Bakery has been closed for some years, the tradition of thumbprint cookies lives on. We continue to make these cookies from scratch, and they are available every day at all of our locations.
